At St. Andrew’s, we seek to live in obedience to Jesus’ commission to His church to go into all the world and make disciples.

In our corner of the world, we seek to work with and support ministries that spread the good news of Jesus in both word and deed. One of our founding principles was that we do not want to be a congregation that only writes checks, but we want to see our own hands put to work and our hearts transformed. So we have several outreach ministries to share the love of Jesus with our neighbors. Here are some of the things we’ve done:

YoungLives

We partner with YoungLives Alaska to deliver groceries to 25-35 young families in Anchorage and the Valley twice a month. On Thanksgiving we delivered food for complete dinners to 71 families and at Christmas we provided stockings for 109 teen moms and their kids.

Alaska Native Medical Center

Before the pandemic we served a monthly homecooked meal to families staying in the Ronald McDonald House.  We also distributed Christmas stockings to families who had to stay at the hospital during Christmas.  We have also collected and delivered games and craft supplies for these families during the pandemic.

Community Pregnancy Center

We supply copies of the Jesus Storybook Bible to be offered to families with young children who come into the CPC.  We have also supplied home-baked snacks for them to serve to clients, meals for staff training days and sewn nursing covers and burp cloths for new moms.

We also financially support the following ministries:

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
